Giving an “image” to the universal.

Heinz Hausmann

PAINTER, CONCEPT ARTIST, AUTHOR + ENCYCLOPEDIST

Heinz Hausmann is a German artist. He studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in the class of Alfonso Hüppi. He lives and works in Düsseldorf.

Heinz Hausmann is a conceptual artist. His works deal with the media presentation of messages (including advertising), which he takes out of their context in order to transfer them to a new level in collages and paintings. He exhibits his works nationwide in galleries and institutional settings. He is highly regarded as an “artist’s artist” in Düsseldorf.

His works belong to a new conceptual art that uses painting, sculpture and language as a form of media expression. The interplay between figurative and conceptual art is evident in the medium of his painting (see Springer on E6) as well as in his “floor works”.
