Sven Kierst lives and works in Düsseldorf. In his photography he focuses on motives of the daily life, which he puts out of their existing context. With this principle he animates a new dimension into the photography. For him personaly counts the moment of this unique situation, where he identifies a special image.  His pictures variies between figurative and abstract visual compositions. Sven Kierst is an important representative of the new German contemporary photography, because he cam back to the photography at itself.

Contrary to the photographers Andreas Gursky, Thomas Ruff a.o. of the Düsseldorf School of Photography, Sven Kierst does not get off from the "object trouvée" with the consequence not to combine his motives with computerized possibilities.

From May 6th - November 24th. 2015 Sven Kierst's works can also be seen on the Triennale di Venezia 2015  in Palazzo Albrizzi, the Cultural Italian-German Association.
