With the first exhibition in the new year 2022 under the title “OUR FRIENDS” I would like to remember our late friends – the significant artists, some of whom I had the pleasure to work with for more than 20 years.
They were remarkable people and became important friends in my life. They convinced and inspired many with their artistic works, which have lost none of its relevance to this day. In their artistic positions, they were pioneers of their time. Their works are current and forward-looking and will also outlast our present.
Adolf Bierbrauer was a painter, sculptor, and psychotherapist/doctor. With his hypnosis paintings from the early 1950s, he was a pioneer of the idea of social sculpture, as formulated by his neighbor in Dusseldorf Joseph Beuys in 1967. His later work in sculpture and painting is characterized by authentic form and visual language.
Stefan Demary was a readymade artist and a professor at the Kunsthochschule Kassel. His works were consisted of manipulating found things, amazingly changing their original meaning and purpose.
Jårg Geismar was an internationally active artist who lived extensively in New York, Tokyo and Dusseldorf. He exhibited in many museums and international venues such Venice Biennale. He was a founder of A.T.W. – Around The World, a global forum for interdisciplinary exchange, which was a social platform before Facebook existed. His multidisciplinary works included installation, painting, sculpture and time based media.
Hans-Jörg Holubitschka studied with Gerhard Richter and was a landscape painter who was not interested in depictiveness, rather in visualizing the feelings and moods through color battles. To this extent, he certainly belongs to the contemporary color field painters.
We are looking forward to your visit.
