Perhaps the blurriness in Keining’s work speaks of nothing other than the fact that painting can only be practiced under today’s conditions if we allow the images to pair with each other and accept that they cannot become more real than their pictorial status allows.

Horst Keining has studied in the class of Erwin Heerich at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. He lives and works in Düsseldorf

He is a contemporary painter whocombines the elements of abstract shapes with elements of figurative painting in different ways. In his early works you will find monochrome and architectural visual languages.

His work has been exhibited throughout Europe, including the Ludwig Museum,Koblenz, in the Netherlands in the Museum Van Bommel Van Dam, Venlo as well as the MuseumIKOB, Belgium.

Works are in the collection of thebrothers van der Grinten, Schloss Moyland, which also owns the largest collection of works by Joseph Beuys. Furthermore his works are in public collections e.g. Pfalzgalerie Kaiserslautern, the Ludwig Museum Koblenz, Kunsthalle Wilhelmshaven, and the Museum Van Bommel Van Dam, the Museum IKOB and in many private collections in – and abroad.
